The first design takes inspiration from Maria Clara, a fictional character in Jose Rizal's novel Noli Me Tangere, who symbolizes ideal womanhood during the Spanish colonial period. The traditional Maria Clara gown comprises four pieces: baro (blouse), pañuelo (shawl), saya (long skirt), and tapis (wraparound skirt). Traditionally crafted from piña fiber extracted from pineapple leaves, the collection utilizes sustainable alternatives including organza and silk, demonstrating consideration for contemporary fashion practices while honoring traditional forms.

The second design represents a fusion of the Maria Clara gown and the Chinese Qipao, creating a unique synthesis that highlights unity within cultural diversity. The two-piece ensemble integrates colors prominent in both national flags—red and yellow—which carry complementary meanings across both cultures. The top features red brocade fabric with a mandarin collar, butterfly sleeves, asymmetrical cut, and pankou (Chinese button knots).
